Alta Vista has been a Dunbar veterinary clinic for more than 28 years. Dr. Parveen Munjal took ownership in 2008 and has led the practice since. The doors are still the same doors. The neighbourhood has changed; our role in it has not. We see the dogs and cats whose families have been coming here through three generations of pets, and we welcome the families just moving in.

VOKRA · PARTNER CLINIC SINCE 2013

A VOKRA Partner Clinic Since 2013

Alta Vista Animal Hospital has been a partner clinic to VOKRA, the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association, since 2013. VOKRA is one of the largest cat rescues in the Lower Mainland, operating through a volunteer-run network of foster homes that has helped thousands of orphaned and abandoned kittens find permanent families.

Our work with VOKRA is straightforward. We provide the veterinary care that gets rescue kittens healthy enough to be adopted. Vaccinations, spay and neuter, and the routine medical attention a volunteer-run rescue cannot manage on its own. Thirteen years in, it is one of the longest working relationships the clinic holds, and we treat it with the same care as the rest of our practice.

INSURANCE & FINANCING

Insurance and Flexible Payment Options

Unexpected veterinary costs should not stand between a pet and the care they need. Alta Vista is a Trupanion direct-billing veterinary hospital, so if your pet is covered by Trupanion you only pay your portion at checkout instead of waiting to be reimbursed. For clients without insurance, we also accept iFinance and ScratchPay, two financing options that help spread the cost of veterinary care over time.

What animals do you see?
Alta Vista cares for dogs and cats only. Our team and equipment are dedicated to small-animal general practice, which means every visit is focused on what your pet specifically needs.

Yes. Alta Vista is a Trupanion direct-billing veterinary hospital, which means if your pet is covered by Trupanion you only pay your portion at checkout. For other major Canadian pet insurers, we provide detailed itemized invoices and most insurers reimburse you directly after the visit.
What should I bring to my pet's first visit?
Bring any prior medical records, a current list of medications or supplements your pet is on, and notes on any concerns you would like the veterinarian to address. For cats, a hard-sided carrier helps the visit go smoothly.
